the campaign - pinkstinks approved

Pinkstinks Approved will be showcasing the retailers, magazines, books, toys, clothes or websites which are providing the best and most exciting positive, non-gendered, non stereotyped products for us and our children.

Letterbox Library
Letterbox Library was established 25 years ago by two single mothers, who were inspired (and provoked!) by the lack of appropriate books for their own daughters – so they decided to search out and provide inclusive children’s books.

“Letterbox Library has a glorious record of providing books for children that celebrate our cultural diversity along with books that point us in the direction of how the world could be a fairer place. Ideally, every school and playgroup in the country would be using Letterbox Library’s catalogue if for no other reason than to balance the mass-market book club catalogues and book fairs which do not serve the reading needs of all children. Here’s wishing all the very best for the next 25 years.”
Michael Rosen, Children’s Laureate, 2008

Founded as a short film event in 2002, Birds Eye View launched the UK’s first major women’s film festival in 2005, Birds Eye View celebrates, promotes and develops the work of outstanding creative women in the film industry from around the world.

'I think Birds Eye View goes a long way towards addressing the gender imbalance inherent in the British film industry.' Mike Figgis
